Yes, the space betweent he particles of matter.
Example :- We take some water in a graduated cylinder and dissolve some salt (sodium chloride in it with the help of a glass rod. After some time you observe that salt dissolves. If a small amount of salt is dissolved, there is no further rise in level of water. This shows that there are spaces present in between the particles of water.
When the salt dissolves, the particles of salt occupy the spaces present in between the particles of water. From this experiment, we conclude that there are present spaces in between the particles of matter. The size and number of these spaces, however, differ from one kind of matter to the other. Like salt we can explain that when sugar, potassium permagnets or dettol is dissolved in water, the particles of potassium permagnete or dettol get evenly distributed between the spaces present among the particles of water. Similarly, when we make tea, coffee or lemonade (nimbu pani), the particles of one of matter get into the spaces present in between the particles of other type of matter. As a result particles of two types of matter get evenly distributed and a solution of one matter in another matter is obtained.
